Title III

Alaska Christian College is a grateful recipient of a Department of Education Title III Grant under the Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions Program.  ACC’s five year grant project is entitled Increasing Alaska Native Students’ Academic Engagement, Persistence, & Success.  The College received notification of the grant award in August of 2020 and official project activity began in October.

This Title III project has allowed ACC to begin hiring new support staff in the areas of Student Engagement, Cultural Connections, Tutoring, and Wellness.  Additional resources are provided for faculty and staff development and curriculum revision efforts.  Supplies and equipment necessary for these student success focused efforts are also being funded through the grant.

A key component of ACC’s Title III project is an extensive renovation effort.  ACC aims to expand the existing Administration Building through renovation of the Denali  Room to develop a Student Engagement Center (SEC).  This area will house the main tutoring functions for the College.  The SEC will consist of an open space for Study Tables, a Group Study Room, a Testing Room, four Study Pods, a Reception Counter, Janitor Room, Mechanical Room, an access Corridor, and Men’s and Women’s Restrooms.

On July 23rd, 2021 the College began soliciting bids from prominent commercial contractors in the Kenai Peninsula region. Interested parties are encouraged to contact the College for an RFP and Bid documents.
